Instruction Poems + Privative Games- George Ghattas

Q1: “What I want to get us to is a place where we can read each other so we understand that the ways that we interpret body language has everything to do with how we understand ourselves.”

R1: This quote emphasizes the deep connection between perception and self awareness. It suggests that understanding others particularly through nonverbal cues is intrinsically tied to how we see ourselves. Our personal experiences, biases, and cultural backgrounds shape the way we interpret body language, meaning that communication is never neutral but always filtered through our own lens.

Q2: “The workshop is where the real work happened.”

R2: The workshop was the project’s heart, where participants engaged, reflected, and shaped ideas. It fostered collaboration, deepened understanding, and transformed theory into lived experience.

Q3: “You allowed us a comfort level in the workshops to talk about things we’d never spoken about, ever.”

R3: The workshops created a safe, open space for honest dialogue, encouraging participants to explore unspoken thoughts. This trust enabled deeper connections, fostering reflection, vulnerability, and new ways of understanding each other.

Q4: “I am more hopeful about confronting those with opposing views”

R4: This statement reflects growth in dialogue and understanding. This experience fostered confidence in engaging with differing perspectives, promoting empathy, critical thinking, and the ability to navigate complex discussions with openness and respect.

Primitive Games:

Primitive Games explored power, communication, and decision making through structured yet ambiguous interactions. Participants navigated alliances and conflicts, revealing insights on social dynamics. Findings showed heightened self awareness and engagement, with some struggling with ambiguity while others thrived. The experience challenged assumptions and fostered deep reflection.

Gentle Rain

Raindrops tap upon the ground,

A peaceful steady soothing sound

The earth drinks deep a gentle sigh

As clouds drifts slowly through the sky

Morning Light

The sun rises soft and bright

Chasing away the quiet night

A new day begins to bloom

Fillings the world with light and room

Soft Breeze

A breeze blows through the trees

Whispering secrets with such ease

It lifts the leaves then lets them fall

A quiet dance a soft recall
