I have been activated to participate in bring awareness of the importance of Abortion Rights. It is a prominent issue that is commonly being talked about as it affects all women throughout the United States. I know some family who live in abortion banned states worried and stress about access to abortions if the case arises. Abortion Rights can’t be talked about unless we invest our understanding of abortion itself. Abortion is multifaceted, something which abortion bans in various states do not account for. These states don’t account for the type of abortions, whether early, late, or spontaneous. Furthermore, they may not account and recognize the effects of restricting abortion pills. Interestingly enough, 55.3% of abortions are medical abortions while 35.5% were surgical abortions. (Ramer) According to “Unsafe Abortion: Unnecessary Maternal Mortality” Around 68,000 woman die from unsafe abortion yearly which 5 million who will suffer from long-term health issues from surviving the abortion. (Haddad and Nour)
This highlights and possibly foreshadows at a problem that could potentially happen to woman in the U.S. Reason from not being anywhere near the closest abortion ban free state to not enough money will only further this issue. This goes back to how important abortions are and from it, abortion itself is.
