Midterm Intervention idea - Aileen Herrera Ojeda

 

For my midterm I want to focus on the topic of the Latino community and the things are impacting it right now, which would be all the hateful rhetoric that is being spewed by ignorant and (frankly) racist people. I am a Latina woman who grew up in a predominately Latino community so the fear that is spreading through my community is palpable due to mass deportations and overall nasty and cruel treatment of my fellow Latino members. 

As a graphic designer I wanted to make a series of posters with short phrases in order to attract the attention of people who pass by them. The short phrases are also something that can be easily and quickly understood. There is also the addition of a butterfly that has a sort of infrared effect. The butterfly symbolizing migration and the right to migrant. The series will also feature different butterflies with different colors, to symbolizes everyone diverseness but unity.
