This is what I know about Art- Angel

This Is What I know About Art:

Quote: "I refused my teacher’s expectations, turning instead to my immediate community of peers so that I would not have to perform labor I had no interest in performing."

Response: Refusing the teacher's expectations gives me a rebel-like attitude. This statement gives me the idea of a person not becoming what society wants them to be but instead will choose their own path.

Quote: "It was not just enough to be angry. I had to be strategic."

Response: This quote tells us that anger can only get you so far. There are limits to what anger can get you and something more reliable that anger is strategy. I feel like this can apply to almost anything such as fighting or competition.

Quote: "For three years, with the power of social media, I tried to show as many people as possible how many doors there could be to the institution."

Response: This statement shows the kind of influence social media can have. Nowadays in order to expand your brand social media is the way to get it across people's minds.

This artwork from Kimberly Drew's Tumbler blog caught my interest from the creepiness it displays. The image shows a black figure with a big smile wearing dark clothes on a black background. The only details you get from its face are his eyes and teeth from his big smile. I'm not sure what this message it is trying to give. Could it be this is how colored mine are depicted in the eyes of others? Maybe this figure is supposed to be the dark side that lies within everyone.
