Q1: "For some, stepping off the curb may be like an epiphany, a blinding moment of clarity in which the injustices of the world are dramatically revealed, while for others it may be a slow awakening, learned indirectly."(Duncombe, Lambert, 18)

R1: When reading this quote/page this made me realized how freeing it must seem when this happens to someone. Being so trapped in a mindset of no knowing what is happening around you is so weird to think about when you outside of the mindset.


Q2: "You will have your own unique story of what led you to step off the curb. Whatever it was, it was likely a powerful experience. You can probably feel this experience even better than you can explain it, and words (or even images) may feel inadequate for capturing it. That’s because its effect upon you was felt more than considered, sensed more than reasoned." (Duncombe, Lambert, 18)

R2: This second quote also made me realize how even when you feel how freeing it feels when you step off the curve, it made me curious on the experiences on how people were able to do it too. Many people can explain where it happened or what caused but, not the feeling of it and it's very interesting to hear what made them open up and share their opinion.


Memes:

Memes are a new and great way to express one's opinions or values on what they think about going on in the world. Memes are very effective for resistance and advocacy because these images or texts can rapidly be shared or address social issues that is happening in the world using an engaging option. These memes can also start discussions and increase the awareness that the public may or may not have. With these discussions increasing people's knowledge the problem at hand. These can also boost up protests and books about these problems and how these issues can be solved. Overall, memes are one of the hottest things that can really push out the importunacy of problems at hand. 

Patriarchy Definition: a system of society or government in which the father or oldest male is head of the family and descent is traced through the male line. This system making women under men but "less masculine" men under too.

Activism Definition: is an effort to promote, impede, or direct social, political, economic, or environmental change. Often through protest, advocacy, or other forms of public engagement.
